Further Developments

...

In addition to our existing resources, we are also developing several new medical learning tools. Below is an insight into what they are…

AIRWAY TO EXPOSURE | INTERACTIVE

Designed to complement and enhance the fifth year acutely ill patient (AIP) programme for undergraduate medical students.

This resource provides an immersive learning experience that aims to help you develop an understanding of how to approach various acute clinical presentations. The format urges you to make choices in order to progress through a given scenario, prompting responses to information presented to decide on the best method of treatment for a particular patient’s condition.

Airway to Exposure consists of 16 modules that mirror the AIP programme. It is a valuable pre-learning tool for fifth year medics prior to attending hands-on simulation teaching.

The MBChB lecture programme for third year undergraduate medical students is a core aspect of the hospital placement experience. The introduction of the Lecture Series allows students the option to receive theory teaching remotely. The impact of COVID-19 pretty much eliminated the opportunities for face-to-face lecture-based teaching, and has reinforced the demand for such resources.

The Lecture Series comprises more than 35 topics spanning the first and second semesters of the third year hospital placement programme. All lectures are validated by clinicians from the relevant clinical specialty.

Currently exclusively available to University of Birmingham medical students, the Lecture Series mobile app for wider audiences is anticipated for release soon.
